If you're met with the screen below, the selected username for the account is considered inappropriate for the network and goes against our rules, which you can read at https://hypixel.net/rules.
How do I join the server again?
The account will have access again once the name changes, provided it is appropriate. If you believe your username was blocked in error, please create an appeal here.

How can I avoid this happening?
In short, if you have to ask if something is appropriate, it is probably a good idea to avoid using it. Just because you can change your name to any username does not mean it is appropriate for the Hypixel Network.
What is considered an inappropriate username?
Names that are deemed inappropriate can include any of the following but are not limited to:
Adult Topics/References
- This can range from sexual innuendos, drugs, references to inappropriate people, explicit sexual sites, and sexual actions, along with other adult content.
Negative Experiences
- Names talking about self-harm or other profoundly negative experiences.
- References to adverse world events
Discriminatory Content
- Derogatory comments or insults include sexist jokes/negative comments about disabilities and racist or negative political/religious comments.
Impersonation/Inappropriate references of Community, Staff, or Creators
- Names that attempt to impersonate staff members/staff ranks and creators
Advertising Media
- Names that advertise a player's social media would include information on how to access their YouTube, Twitch, Discord, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media platform.
- Names that promote the usage of blocked modifications
