This article will provide more specific and detailed information regarding security measures that our players should take into consideration while playing SkyBlock on the network! Players are responsible for their own accounts and personal information and take full responsibility for any actions which may occur on their accounts.
What is a sketchy link? (Why would someone send them?)
People often send links to third-party sites to advertise various platforms, which can range in purpose.
These links could also potentially be to a website that may steal your private information and put your computer at risk. Please do not click links you're not familiar with!
What do they look like?
Often, these links in the clickable form will be blocked from being displayed in-game for the safety of our users. Players who attempt to avoid this restriction may use special characters, add spaces to the link, or use other various methods.
Please do not navigate to any of the websites linked via bypassing our filter, as we cannot guarantee they are secure platforms.
Bypassing the chat filter to advertise a website will result in the account being punished. If you see someone doing this, please use the /report command.
Our permitted domains to place in chat can be found below:
If someone sends a Discord invite link to you in-game, we recommend not clicking on it, as we cannot guarantee the content will be safe.
Please note that we are not responsible for the actions conducted on third-party discord servers.
(Anything outside the official Hypixel Discord is an unofficial service)
The official Hypixel Discord is the only Hypixel Discord server. Instructions on how to join it can be found here.
Definition: Attempting to gain something of value from another individual via means of deception. This is usually done by impersonating an individual or group that has authority.
MAKE SURE TO CHECK if you are sent a phishing Discord link over direct messages. Often, these masquerade as real invites by mimicking a real invite with an image. Discord has a helpful article on how to avoid this here.
Any modification we don’t list as explicitly allowed on our Allowed Modification Guide, we recommend against using.
You may find players attempting to give you a ‘'free mod'', giving away paid content, or asking you to try out a mod they have. We HIGHLY recommend against using or downloading these mods, as they could put your computer and Minecraft account at risk.
Individuals publish YouTube videos regarding various modifications which automate or exploit the game. Likely, the modifications they provide in the video's description are malicious files, and we would advise against downloading or using them.
These mods can contain but are not limited to the following:
- RATs (Remote Access Trojan Virus) - Gain control of the compromised device, including files.
- Session ID Stealer - Gain access to your Minecraft, Discord, or other accounts you may be logged into. This means they can access your accounts without your password or consent.
Co-Op & Profiles
Please keep in mind that anyone you invite to your SkyBlock Island will have full access to ALL of your island's resources. A malicious user may attempt to trick you into inviting them to your SkyBlock Island, in which they may steal items or coins you have gained.
We recommend you not invite users to your SkyBlock Island unless you are already familiar with them and fully trust them.
We advise you to be cautious in whom you invite as you accept responsibility for the actions taken by your Co-Op members. This is because inviting users to your island is a voluntary action, in which you have the power to choose who joins.
